Deci Dela c1994

Deci Dela by Nina Ricci: launched in 1994. Created by Evelyne Boulanger and Jean Guichard.

In 1992, Parfums Nina Ricci S.A. began developing a new fragrance to be marketed worldwide under the name "Deci Dela." The name was chosen from the French opera "Veronique" by high-level executives of Parfums Nina Ricci A.S. The name takes off on the old French saying "Now here, now there."

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a crisp, fruity mossy chypre fragrance for women. Deci dela is called a harmony of three interwoven lines f scents - one fruity (youthful), floral (warm, developed) and woody (softness.) The eau de toilette is lighter and fruitier while the parfum is the warmest, most complex.

Succulent fruits in combination with floral accents make this fragrance a show-stopper. Artful packaging contains a mixture of sensual delights with the unexpected punch of raspberry, cherry, peach, freesia and rose. Not for the faint of heart. In eau de toilette, concentrated eau de toilette and extract.
  • Top notes: orange, nectarine, cherry, apricot, mandarin, watermelon, pawpaw, raspberry, Chinese osmanthus, peach, Australian boronia and red currant
  • Middle notes: hazelnut, headspace sweet pea, carnation, Javanese papaya, orris, freesia, jasmine, sweet pea rose and cabbage rose
  • Base notes: Sumatran balsam, cedar, cypress, amber, benzoin, styrax, Cambodian agar wood, oakmoss, sandalwood, patchouli, resins and vanilla

Vanity Fair, 1995:
"Original. Audacious. An exotic, fruity, floral and chypre blend that is impossible to resist in brightly coloured flacons as luscious as the fragrance within."

Bottle:

Presented in a rounded deep pink bottle with gold swirls and gold round stopper, designed by the Mattia Bonetti for artists Bonetti and Garouste (BG), it captures Nina Ricci's characteristic playful and romantic style. The bottle design has a natural, pleasing shapeliness glowing with rich colors of raspberry, cherry and mandarin orange. The glass is frosted to give it the feel of a peach skin and enlivened with dancing lines of gold. The matte gold stoppers are shaped like fattened hearts set on a diagonal slant.

Deci Dela's bath line takes its colors directly from the sea, in matte shades of blue and green reminiscent of the 1950s. The whimsical soap dish recalls the flying saucers of the era and rests on little gold balls. The stoppers on both the shower gel and body lotion are plump golden waves.

  1. I have used Nina Ricci Deci Dela since it came out in the early 1990's. Since it was discontinued, I have tried many perfumes but I cannot take to any as much as Deci Dela. It had a perfume that lasted and made me feel great. Why stop what was a successful brand? I will not pay the prices being quoted to me for the rare bottles that are left as much as I love the eau de toilette.

  2. I have never bought a perfume since they stopped producing it. I couldn't. It was like I'm being unfaithful to all my history that I've been through with "deci delĂ "of Nina ricci. Cause it wasn't just a perfume. It was the story of my life!
